K so my case of senioritis is getting worse and worse every day and the teachers don't seem to understand that or they do and decide to be mean by giving us more work to do. I think sleeping is going to be something I do two times a week for the rest of the quarter. And AP's are coming up and i didnt realize that until today. BAH!! Where does all of the time go? So I made a decision about my future tonight and that was a little nerve wracking. I've decided that I'm not going to college but that I'm going into the coast guard instead for a couple of years. That way when I'm done serving my country, I'll know a little bit more about myself and what it is that I want to do with my life. Cuz right now asking a stupid, naive 17 year old isn't exactly fair. Now that that decision is out of the way I can worry about what traits flies pass down from generation to generation cuz we know that all of this is going to matter when you're saving people in the ocean. Ya know for the ride up to the helicopter, "Oh hey by the way, I know youre scared and missing half of your body from a shark but did you know that fruit flies have three different eye colors that are sex-linked characteristics? Oh, let me grab you a new leg from the back. Hang on a sec." LOL. They'll keep me around for a while.

So overall good spring break. I got to hang out with my friends and just take a break from school and everything that word entails which was much needed. Caught up on shopping and all those movies I missed from the past few months. Watched NCAA tourney and decided that my entire bracket has fizzled into oblivion. Shuttling Lobster Fest was definitely fun. I met a lot of really funny, cool people.

Half day today was very nice. Erin and I went to Noodles. Really wish Kayla could have come but next time! Then we hit up the mall to meet a bunch of people over there and stopped in the puppy store. Totally fell in love with a puppy in the window. He was adorable! So fluffy and the cutest little eyes and nose. We named him Freddy. Then he slobbered on Erin so we decided that meant he loved us too. Anyone have $2000 we could borrow to rescue him from his glass home? If so you know who to call.

Gotta say there's just something about the rain that makes the small, petty things that are going on in high school seem so small and insignificant. It's like washing the slate clean and starting all over again with a new sense of importance. It turns any day right side up and fills me with so much happiness. I'm so tired of the drama and crap that's been going on lately. It's more exhausting than the millions of tests and projects teachers give for the same day. I can't wait to be away from it all next week. So once again: Rain, rain come again!

I love rodeo break...too many good things in 4 days. I wish every week was like Rodeo break. Concert Sunday night was so awesome. Kayla I had tons and tons of fun with you. You're definitely my favorite country concert buddy.

This week seems totally endless and with Lent starting tomorrow it's going to be a lot harder than I had originally thought. Fat Tuesday....ahhh such a great day! But I'm excited for Mass tomorrow! I really do love our Masses and the choirs are outstanding.

WAHOO!!! RODEO BREAK! I gotta say there are times where this town seems super boring but getting a Rodeo Break totally makes up for it! There isn't a better place to be this week in the entire world.

Kayla, you are a freaking genius for thinking to go ice skating yesterday- tons of fun. I swear I thought that Lauren and I were gonna fall and have to buy dinner and there were a couple close calls but it didn't happen. Can't wait for Sunday night- gonna be FREAKING AWESOME!!

Y'all have a great Rodeo Break- and go to the rodeo!!! 'Cuz besides Disneyland it's the happiest place on earth.

Holy crap! So, Kairos 181 was so freaking amazing! Amber, Jay, Katie, Tyler, Christeen, Frank, and of course Chris you guys are incredible people and without you this Kairos wouldn't have been possible or as great as it turned out to be. Everyones prayers, love, and support made this Kairos as some people have said, "The best Kairos in a VERY long time." I don't know what we were so worried and nervous about going in because every part of the retreat was incredible! I love y'all so much- thank you for all of the support you gave me and the encouragement the past month or so and especially last week when we were up there.

To all of my friends back here: You guys are so special to me! I love you with all of my heart. Your love and prayers are the only things that got me through the past 3 weeks. Erin, thanks for all of the "walks" and of course the drives to just talk to me about anything. Kayla, thank you for your prayers and hugs. I missed you guys tons, too! You made me cry when I got back which I didn't think would be possible but it definitely was! I love you guys tons and tons.

G-1: You all are such beautiful, special, wonderful people and I feel so blessed to have you as friends in my life. Even though we're not still up there I am and will always be here for you no matter what you need! CRAZY LOVE!!!

Crazy Week

Wow. I can't believe that Friday is FINALLY here. Sometimes it seemed like the week would go on forever!

We had our final Kairos meeting Tuesday... I'm getting really nervous and scared.

YAY for Thursdays though. Especially the ones where the day is not going so well and then BAM! All of a sudden they turn REALLY great! Commissioning was good and made me feel better about next week. Mr. Rogers hit it right on with how I'm feeling and how I think all of the leaders are feeling going into next week. Thank you all for your prayers, love, and encouraging words. They mean more than you can ever know.

Good luck to all of my soccer guys! You will play amazing. I wish I could be there to cheer you on. I'm there in spirit though!

YAY for amazing days as seniors!!! I love Jamboree day. Mass was incredible and Fr. Glenn's sermon was so powerful and got me really in the mood for my Kairos meeting- I leave in 2 weeks and I'm about to freak out! Jamboree- so pointless that you just love it. Senior girls are the reigning champs at tug of war. Nice try senior boys! lol I missed the senior bbq which was a bummer but I caught the tail end of it so not so bad. Soccer game-YAY! So much fun. Congrats boys on winning region you all are SO amazing. Then to Kayt's house to watch a movie and eat cookies where funny stuff went down. Gosh I love being a senior LMAO! I had my first Kairos mentor meeting today to discuss my talk. I am really excited but super super nervous about doing this. I dont know how i am going to be able to get everything I want to say across and for it to make sense and be relatable. I am really glad that Kairos people are coming back and that I get to go bowling tomorrow night. I am hoping I get at least one strike so everyone cross their fingers with me. Well off to figure out what gel electrophoresis is!

First week back from break: so hectic! It seemed three times as long as it actually was. I had tons of hw from break and that teachers gave this week followed by quizzes and tests. Yup, the first 3 days back. How is it that the weeks go by really slowly but the months just speed by? It doesn't seem possible that it is already January.

So I lost my voice last night and sound REALLY bad (or sexy depending on how you look at it) today. Everyone was making fun of me and I have to say I was quite entertaining at some points in the day. I think the conclusion was I sounded like a man this morning and by the afternoon it changed into the sound of the canadian geese that are always in the parks. Hopefully I find my voice soon because this is no fun for me.

Went to see Henry IV play today. That was interesting. I think the actors all did a really great job considering the material they had to work with. The set changes were really awesome and I'm glad I was in the balcony to see how it all worked. Yes, I'm a dork and I know it. Overall, kind of a blah day but you know what, tomorrow will be even better! Thanksgiving break is this week and I can't wait to just hang with friends and do nothing for 5 days. It's going to be crazy fun! I just have to make it through tonight and it's all downhill from there. "Just a few more hours is all the time we've got. A few more hours before we tie the knot." Sorry, random I know but that made me think of the song from My Fair Lady. Good movie. Well, I'm off to do homework unfortunately. Basketball team playing tonight and I can't wait to watch! I am in love with Kairos. Everything about it is so incredible and it just keeps getting better and better. The Commissioning Mass tonight was so remarkable. I had a blast hanging out with tons of people afterwards and doing just random nothing but having so much fun doing it! Erin, I hope your car isn't damaged by the Barrett. LOL. Your the best hun! I finally got a new phone today after about a year of dropped calls and cutting out. I was so relieved when i could actually talk to my friends without having to call them back 3 times because the call was lost! Starbucks was awesome with Erin just talking all about Kairos and catching up on what's been going on here lately. Then Hallie and I decided to boogy (lol such a funny word) down to school to drop off food for the NHS ceremony thing. Everyone looked so different in their dresses and suits and ties. Now I'm home and I get to worry about school work and doing well on my stats test tomorrow or my dad will kill me! Well have a great night everyone!
